Project Description
The Thailand Board of Investment acts as Thailand’s marketing arm and actively promotes the country worldwide as one of the best investment locations in Asia. The BOI’s 13 overseas offices serve as Thailand’s front desks in liaising with potential investors.
As they wanted to sharpen their focus on meeting long-term customer demand in growth markets, Caterpillar selected Thailand to be home of their new manufacturing plant expected to employ approximately 900 people.
ROI Research on Investment was instrumental in identifying the expansion project and promoting Thailand as an investment destination.

Press release from PR Newswire:
Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) announced that it plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Thailand. The facility will produce medium track-type tractors, which are used by Caterpillar customers around the world for various construction applications.
The new, 40,000-square-meter (430,000-square-foot) factory will be built on the Hemaraj Rayong Industrial Land in Rayong Province. The new facility will increase the global production of medium track-type tractors to respond to the growth in demand. Once the facility in Thailand is fully operational and at full capacity, it is expected to employ about 900 people.
